I intend to do exactly that, Miserere. In fact, I am hoping to be able
to come to Chicago with A 50/1.2 and properly adjusted f.s. of my K-7.
Otherwise, it would have

A couple of updatesI got my Katz-Eye screen diald in on my K7.
The stock screen comes with a .4mm shim, apparently this is standard, I
foundthat a .2mm shim was the best one.
I tested this with a 50/1.2 lens at f/1.2.
So, if anyone is thinking of installing a Katz Eye into their K7, probably

Rebecca Katz produces alternative focusing screens for a wide range of

It is Rachael ;-).
I have one in my K10D and one in my K-7. The promptness and the way they
provide very thorough service never ceases to amaze me. The screens are
very good and that in K10D opened me a way to A 50/1.2. The one in K-7
is pending shims calibration like William Robb indicated.
My understanding is that the position of the focusing screen (not the
mirror, but the screen) has nothing to do with operation of AF. Notably,
my current Katz Eye focusing screen in not aligned properly while AF
works spot on. And AF was spot on before I changed the screen as well.
