Wow. The longest and most elaborate comment I've ever read on any of my
shots. Thank you very much indeed, Tim and all the others who so have
kindly contributed.

I think it's a lovely shot, Ralf. I really like how you managed to
line up that one tower with the street. I actually think there's a lot
of beauty in industrial landscapes, and it's cool to see that
juxtaposed with that pretty street. Good for you for capturing some of
it while you still can.

Ralf,
Love the street, but the array of modern technology bearing down from
the background is a disturbing. At least that's the message I receive.
Well made point, if with tongue-in-cheek.

This modern technology is Belgium's ailing steel industry. Most of what
you see there has been closed down, years ago.

I find the fascinating. The background ugliness is in a mist and the attractive
foreground structures are crisp and clear. A very complex, yet compelling
image. Good work.

Ralf, I really like what you've captured. I don't feel the top part adds to
the image. If it were mine I'd crop out from the roof line on the right to
the top.

almost without a trace and the mills are now cold and dead. Only one
blast furnace remains in operation and that will also be closed in 3
years.
Nice little streets can be had all over Belgium. It's the mill in the
background that makes Rue Bordelais what it is.

somehow reflect what
you're trying to convey.
To me Rue Bordelais is about a street with houses on it and not a steel
mill, but what do I know?
I still like the original image no matter what you're trying to capture.
YMMV

I like Ralf's photograph.
I can see no reason to be insulting about what he's titled it. Sheesh.
It's a photograph of a street in a town where there are abandoned
steel mills looming in the distance.
WTF??? How hard is that to understand?
