The subdued colors, the texture and that diagonal patch of (heavenly?)
light all resonate with me.
However, the tilting lines below (which I believe, are really part of

Technicalities aside, for a moment, that is a lovely creature!
And, yes surprisingly good result at that ISO and that is with K20D;
no champion in that regard at all.

I, like Bruce, see halos around trees. They are encircled by a
brighter rim of sky.
I suspect your monitor might be making those halos invisible.
Maybe you should examine the image using another monitor...

You might want to visit the PDML archives as I remember this issue was
discussed a bit, earlier.
Relatively modern Pentax lenses inform the body about their
identity. Bojidar Dimitrov's site can be of help for this, I think.
The camera firmware includes a database of all those lenses.
I believe the site is well worth a re-visit under better, fittingly
dramatic weather/light conditions.
It still looks intriguing.

I have the earlier (not WR) version.
I have found it very versatile while I was using it.
It was definitely better than my earlier lens of simiar range (Sigma
70 - 300mm).
I do not think I may sell it even though I have too many lenses already.

Compared to the earlier ones, this one has colors not so charming
(for lack of a better word).
I wonder how much of this impression is due to the character of the light
and how much to the character of the film.
