Re: PESO: The Moon in Perigee
Yep. I'll try again if the weather cooperates. No that yet another moon pic is of value, but it's fun. I might use my A2X-S converter rather than the DA 1.4 X to get to 900mm. I read that next month's full moon will be even closer & subsequently appear even larger. On 10/19/2016 10:46 AM, Godfrey DiGiorgi wrote: On Oct 18, 2016, at 5:28 PM, Paul Stenquistwrote: Thanks Dan. Re: PESO: The Moon in Perigee
Thanks Godfrey. The closer to the horizon, the more interesting the atmospheric effects, but sharpness is lost. I just shot when I happened to notice that the moon was visible from my front yard, but I think I lucked out in getting some of the close to the horizon color but not a lot of atmospheric distortion. Thanks Dan. I replaced the original with a different frame that was exposed at a lower ISO and with a bigger ap. Finally had time to sort through the shots. Too much glass is just enough I like Moon pictures and it's an excuse to get a big mirror lens out. A couple of my friends have taken Moon pictures recently and applied filters or otherwise modified them in Lightroom. Whilst they look unusual, they don't look right. The Moon looks good as it is. Nice image right here. Re: PESO: The Moon in Perigee
Looking at the data it's about a 2.4 stop push, so about ISO 4000, and it' s a tight crop. I shot some at f8 that are more like ISO 1000, but I like this one better. Good image. Not excessive, but seems slightly grainy. Perhaps due to a one stop under exposure?
