I believe richard already said that he was referring to the area of the
exposed image, because it is the only part that exhausts developer. The
original question related to how much developer would be used in the
development process. Yes. there may be 47880mm^2 of surface area (actually

Guy,
What a great idea. I wished I'd have thought of that. I wish you the

Hi. I am Patrick. I joined the list about a month ago and have been lurking
around ever since.
I've built a couple of pinhole cameras
neither of us are right. 24x36x36 =31,104mm2
8(x2.5)x 10(2.5) = 50,000 mm2

38 mm not 36.
35 x 38 x 36 = 47880
Guy et. al.!
All the best for your very ambitious pinhole hotel project! Eager to see the
images on web.

into a giant pinhole camera on April 28. Details of the project can be
found at the following URL (Zernike has offerd to build and host the web
site which is still in progress):
I hope I understand your question properly.
You could use plastic (pvc) tubes of ,for examle 2 inches length, placed
vertically. They could be glued in place using polyurethane or another
bonding material. The tubes could be bonded directly to the bottom of your
sink, or to the corners plastic
FWIW my favorite zone plate/pinhole conversion is an old Kodak folding
brownie. Its nice because it was cheap, fits in your pocket, is 6x9 format,
has a longish focal length, has a shutter with three speeds plus B and T
settings and can take a cable release. Also the catch on the folding bit
