Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Waveinput on M-Audio Delta
The best way to check whether it is possible - is to use the MS Accessory Recorder to record the audio to a file. If you can find the device that can be recorded and the device supplies the audio stream - then an appropriate argument for waveinput can determined. However it is possible the card's driver just doesn't support the record audio stream feature. However the feature may be disabled by default, in which case you may need to go into card driver settings to enable the feature or edit a driver associated file which means searching on other websites/forums for help. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67748 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Several last.fm accounts on one player?
Hi, I am enjoying my Squeezebox and the Last.fm Squeezescrobble plugin. However, my wife and kids are enjoying it, too. It would be nice to have a feature to select a local account (ideally with a password or a pin) when I switch on the box that is linked to a (or no) last.fm account. I do not want my kids music to be scrobbled to my last.fm account. Anybody having the same issue and potentially a solution? I don't want to parse HTML-sites (like the other plugins), there should be a proper API and a specified stable result. Good luck with that, most of the API/RSS feeds only give limited data, so you either need to suck the data from the screen or find a good provider. Most of the plugins check www.weather.com, wunderground, or an old one I wrote bbc.co.uk/weather bluegaspode;456714 Wrote: Currently WeatherBug has one big advantage over the other - it provides real nice icons in different resolution (and transparent background) Be careful with copyright infringement, the way current plugins are working is to extract the forecast and check the forecast text and link this up to a number stored in an array/list, with the number e.g. 1.gif (sunny) or 2.gif (rain) being the gfx to display on the screen. So you can use any gfx you want and you arent limited to what the provider uses. You need to plan for a lot of users using your plugin (even if you only have a few) and think about the case where 1000+ users are all pulling data from the provider and therefore what you can cache locally to ensure minimal impact to the provider. If you become a burden they will just cut your plugin off as you arent generating any revenue for them. Glad to hear that you have not completely given up on SC 7.4. Standing on the sidelines I can see that not a lot of new or enhanced plugins have surfaced lately. Like yourself other developers might be reluctant to introduce new plugins or enhanced existing ones for fear that the next build around the corner will brake them. It is not pleasant to see all your hard work be made obsolete by changes outside your control. Maybe soon the SC 7.4 will stabilize enough to allow you to update SugarCube on this build and also allow you to move those updates to the next quantum leap (SC 8.x) without much pain.
