out and used it as mobil rig, I have aquired a midland 13-509 and
would like to build a 222 mhz repeater out of them. Since I know
almost nothing of the details of building a repeater any information

ladder guyed at three points sitting in a hole dug about a foot deep
to keep it from walking off in the wind. I can see this being done for
a temperary setup but to

Well the only problem I have with
selling Software and cables, is that a numbers of years ago there were a number
of guys that were hams here in the area that would program radio's on
anything. Some they sold and some they just used for them self.
There was business, ham, police and other
I agree. There is not very good lateral strength in a ladder because there
is no diagonal bracing like most towers have. You need to think triangles.
If it creates a triangle, in all planes, it's going to have strength. The
old Dill towers with horizontal steps had no sideways strength. Today's

Just curious Neal. I remember that Ray K2AQG was the 220 coordinator for
TSARC [Tri-State Amateur Repeater Council] back in the late 1970's,
early 1980's and I was his assistant frequency coordinator. When did you
become the 220 coordinator, what ever happened to Ray [he lived in New
Jersey] and
Before you put a uhf repeater on the air, you need to
be assigned a frequency by the Mid-America Coordination
Council (MACC). The Nebraska coordinator is John Gebuhr
WB0CMC and he may be contacted at the address listed in
www.qrz.com
He will mail you the required forms and upon successful
Again, where was it said (or confirmed) that this is a ham repeater?

I thought the guy who originally posted asked us to drop the subject because
he made a mistake on the frequency. Didn't he?

I bet if he's still on QRZ.com, he's still in the FCC db, which means
they were not informed of his passing.
Look up his call in ULS.

Ian,
In my part of the world a good aluminum ladder costs about twice what a
section of Rohn 25G costs...
I think I would go with the 25G just for safety and strength, not to mention
that your insurance agent would have a fit..

Or
they may have a reason NOT to send in the information just yet. A family member
may be considering taking the test so that they can keep the callsign as a
Memorial to the loved one.
With
licenses going for 10 years now even a very young child or grandchild has a
