Hi All,
I have a radio that does not have any point for taping a line for a signal
report from it to the controller.
Radios in question, Mitrek and Tait. Controller is RLC-3 and RLC-2A
So I am after a circuit if possible that will allow me to get a signal report
from the incoming contact.

To be sure we all understand what you are trying to accomplish: are you
looking for a suitable connection point for an S-meter type reading? In the
Mitrek, this can be found at the metering socket, pin 1.

Hey Rick,
You can format a floppy with / using an old DOS computer, and make a DOS
boot disk. May be able to download one from bootdisks.com. Then insert
the floppy with RSS and run it.
Works for me.

2nd question Will the DOS programming software work in a DOS window under
XP? I have my suspicions that it won't. That means I need to convert one of my
old machines to DOS only. (yuk)!

True, but the broadcast band notch (not the 900 band) stub from
a section of coax will have a fairly low Q... translated to mean
it might be a popcorn fart (not nearly enough). Plus you want to
use (if possible) a notch cavity that has a dc shunt to ground.

It may not run well on that fast of a machine. remember that old DOS

least be worth a try. Let us know, Ric, If it DOES work OK that way (DOS

I have an old 386 SX 16 running DOS 6.2. I keep it around just for these
eventualities. I built it in the early 1990s from a motherboard cast off in a

This is correct. I use an old Pentium 133 Mhz laptop. Have not tested
on anything faster. YMMV.
