Hmm I thought I got this to work last night.. But if I change the Backup
key, it makes the new dir, but still creates a 'Backup' dir and saves a
backup in there.. Can I stop that?

Set the Scene Backups value to 0 in your prefs? We have the same problem
here actually. Soft just insists on creating a Backup directory if a
backup is generated. It has to put it somewhere, so I guess the only way
to stop it is to not have it generate backups in the first place, and

In our case, we have to make our own backup system anyway, regardless of
what Soft is doing, simply because we want that level of control, since
we want our backups to be appropriate the assets or shots they pertain to.

You could change stuff in the registry, but maybe you would prefer to
have a plugin/event/addon that does that for you.
