You may also try sprinkle some Desktop.RedrawUI() in your script to force
UI update. Use it with caution though as it will slow you down. :/

is not that the ui is not redrawing. it's Windows'
desktop compositor that's graying out the window by drawing on top of
it.

- that may be your problem. The
default delta settings are way too open. If you untick save changes to
mixer in the delta, and clean out any saved references to it in the delta,
it should respect that.

Help! We are running into this obscure problem in our production with
Mixers in referenced models not updating. Even when we delete the Mixer
altogether and save it out as a new scene, the Mixer would magically
reappear upon reloading this newly saved scene.
All of the settings in the referenced
LOVE the animation style!
Check out Paul Smith on Vimeo, too.
His tutorials on ICE are AMAZING.

Hey Ben,
Semi-unrelated to the topic… But, that trailer looks awesome! Any plans of
releasing this film in Asia when it’s ready?

Sounds great! I’m interested, too.
Do you plan to cover ICE, since you said Softimage will be used as the main
tool, in this workshop?
Cool! J
Thanks.
In my experience, if I am setting an object(null)’s transforms via ICE, I
had to create the ICE tree on a separate/different object. Then, everything
would work as expected, null’s transform properly locked and all.
I am guessing in your example you created the ICE tree on the null you are
trying
Looking at the bright side, at least here in Japan, Softimage is still very
popular. J
I have noticed that when I try “match all transforms” on an object to
something parented to it(a child), it tends to fail quite a bit. It looks
like the rotation gets evaluated first and set, before the position. So the
final position is not the original position where the child was, but where
it
Hi Chris,
Here are the quick repro steps demonstrating what I was saying...
Turn off child compensate.
Create two nulls, parent one(child) to the other(parent).
Set the global transforms of the child null to something like posy = 1,
rotx = 3.
Run match all transforms on the parent null to the
Thank you so much!
So that’s what happens when quicksort is called! Brilliant!
Congrats and thanks for the demo on feather! J
What happens if you change the near plane clipping to a smaller value in
the camera properties panel? I think that way you can zoom in closer to an
object/element than before. Although it still doesn't get rid of the
limit, per se.
Thanks for sharing! J

Setting Show Keys to Keyable Parameters on the time line will not

Setting it to All (filters) will hide custom parameters keys.
Have you played with adjusting the motion steps in the renderer options?
Nice!
Thanks for these. :)

Yeah I see you, but I also have been noticing a lack of emails delivered
from the list as of late. When compared with the mail list archive, there
have indeed been a few topics that never came through... Wonder what is
going on?
