The other side of the story of course is that these sort of slow news
day stories always gloss over the problems that are still to overcome.
Like for instance the lab process does 4 litres a day (my own fer-
instance) and will it scale up.
The no wastewater line is a clasic example. OK maybe

The legislation aims for an integrated approach to pollution prevention and

Hi Keith and Everyone,
I would be glad to post a small part of the process
using a solid catalyst from the Fox/Ginosaur et al
Patent. Hopefully this will give everyone an idea as to
how difficult the process really is and may shed some
light on the ongoing mystery about this fabled process.

Not unless it falls within their mission interests to do so.
Which it might do - they're involved in hybrids, and biodiesel makes

Hi David
I would like to see the patent. If you could upload it into the files

David, I think a lot of people would be grateful if you'd post what

Hi Arne
Unfortunately thats not the correct patent for this process. Fox,
Ginosar and Lockheed Martin were a bit sneaky, they published an
international patent (WO prefix)for this process. I came across a
vague reference in one of their multiple press releases somewhere.

In making Biodiesel, if someone uses methanol, it does not have to be water
free, but if you use ethanol, it has to be water free correct?

To be totally exact, neither of them has to be water-free. It's just that

Ok, that is basicly were I was going with this, useing a small amount
of methanol to make useing the ethanol easier to use.
Yup, it works. For oil above a titer of 2.5 ml or so (of 0.1% NaOH), I
