Ok, that is basicly were I was going with this, useing a small amount of methanol to make useing the ethanol easier to use. Yup, it works. For oil above a titer of 2.5 ml or so (of 0.1% NaOH), I do a caustic refining step. For oil between 1.0 and 2.5, I use a mix of 3 parts ethanol to 1 part
