Wow, I had no idea that fees were required in California. $825 for your vehicle and rendering license (Renewable annually). Also, add the road fuel taxes you report for each gal of biodiesel consumed in your vehicle, plus processing chemicalsand your basically broke! A huge price to pay in

I just heard it is illegal to collect waste frying oil from any-place in Calfornia. Does anyone know if this is true or not and point me to legal documents on the web that state this. I just purchased my first diesel and am about to get into making my own biodiesel here in Northern California

The Agriculture Dept. requires a renderer's license ($800 a year) to collect inedible grease. After a renderer picks up the grease, they heat it to 180 degrees farenheit and now you can pick it up, ship it, do whatever you will. You also need a license for the vehicle that picks up the
