While I have not viewed the tape closely to see whether Richards
committed a lane violation, it would be unfair to single her out
and, even just for fun, readjust team scores. There were several
other athletes who committed similar violations. In the last 4 years
that I've attended the NCAA
After looking at the tape of the NCAA meet, it appears that Sanya Richards
should have been disqualified in both the 200 AND the 400.
Unlike the USATF and IAAF rules, which simply state that an athlete shall be
disqualifed for stepping on or over the inside line of their lane, the NCAA
calls
I KNEW I saw her do that in the 200!
If you were to throw out Richards' 16 points and adjust everything
accordingly, Texas drops from 5th to 10th, and South Carolina would
break the tie with Florida and take sole possession of 2nd.

quite certain she would be DQed, and was stunned when she wasn't.

There seems to be a lot of DQs for lane violations at the WIC. Does
anyone know why?
They're probably running in another lane!!??
