Ron Clarke told this story about Zatopek, and referred to it as
the "epitomy of fame"..
along the same lines: in 1973 a friend of mine was in Warsaw visiting
Wladyslaw Komar,
"I will not be at the world championships, I have to decide precisely what

will do for the last months of my career. I would like to end it as a
winner."
Don't know where that quote came from, but MJ told us (TFN) just last week
