I've had the same issue. When searching for cities or suburbs it will come up with results such as Newcastle, VIC Newtown, VIC etc. I just switched on my Legend HCx and did a search for nearest cities. Currently I'm in Lismore and despite most of the results being in NSW it still came up with:

Yeah, completely understand your stance on it mate. In the end I'd probably keep using Google anyway because most of my route planning is on unmapped roads. If they're mapped chances are they're too busy for a cyclist or I've already been there :p. Just throwing ideas around as usual. -
