Scratch that. That work around is a BAD idea. It go progressively worse reporting more files as un backupable. Then it ran the 9.04 upgrade and killed the whole thing, Ubuntu won't boot now. I had to go back into XP and uninstall Ubuntu. Very disappointing. -- E:

Furthermore I can't install dansguardian any longer, even though I have virusscan=off, because of the dependency it has on clamav, and in turn clamav-freshclam which seems to be causnig the trouble. I also tried mounting everything controlled by pam_mount before installing, it didn't help.
