I just got the same error. The only difference is that I was not using tasksel,
but had just typed the following command:
sudo apt-get install lamp-server^

The Universal Edition comes without most of the codecs pre-installed by
default to ease redistribution in countries where patents are applicable
to software, i.e. USA, Japan...
If you want to install them and get the same level of multimedia support
as found in the other editions, open the menu -

The driconf workaround thankfully fixed my broken Stellarium menus and
dialogs with an Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics
Controller (rev 03).

After making the changes above(assuming that implemented the real time
support stuff properly... the post in 18 appears to mention using a
custom -rt built kernel, which I haven't done.. not sure if that's the
correct thing to do or not. Also, I tried setting the memlock to
unlimited and
NightHorse same thing on my L505 laptop...reception power is very low
when I'm too far from the Access Point (compared to Windows). Everything

Please make gdm use a [Default] layout by default, one which simply
doesn't write anything to
/desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd/layouts, as opposed to
using/forcing the [us] layout.

Please build zynjacku 5.2 if you would be so kind. I realize my build
gives me the missing zynworld error mentioned above and I currently
don't have the time to fix it.
However, after you get it built and working I would appreciate learning
what you did to build it correctly.

By adding acpi_backlight=vendor to the kernel line in menu.lst, the
problem goes away. However I'm then unable to adjust the screen
brightness via the function key buttons. Does this help in finding the
issue?

users-admin is locked out for me as well as gdmsetup. The Click to make
changes button does nothing.

- This is a clean install of 9.10 not an upgrade
- My system is up-to-date. I only update via Update Manager
- Kernel is 2.6.31-16

Finally, this bug has been fixed in the latest development version of Ubuntu -
Lucid Lynx - in version 10 of the package.
ttf-mathematica4.1 is obsolete and replaced by mathematica-fonts .
