Replacing the file vesamenu.c32 on the USB disk drive with that one
/usr/lib/syslinux/vesamenu.c32 of Ubuntu Maverick system works fine,
and is a permanent fix.
This is the same when using Mint 10 and Mint 11.

I have the same problem using a Fujitsu U9200 and Ubuntu 10.04. I do
not believe this is a bios problem as when I run virtual box with a
Ubuntu Host/XP guest, the Win XP will display the correct
battery/charging state, complete with the low power warnings, it
functions perfectly. There is just a

The problem is that the /etc/ldc.conf file only has some of the tango
libraries. The switches are:

OK I have a solution that now works for me. If I use;

In previous versions of Ubuntu I have never had to enable this plugin.
But with Karmic to be able to fullscreen on double click I must enable
the plugin in Eye of Gnome.
It has taken me a week to work this out. I definitely vote for the
plugin being enabled by default just to prevent unnecessary

Someone just added the CVE link to this bug. Was it a mistake? That CVE
is for a buffer overrun security flaw in the Owl/BarnOwl instant
messaging client.
This bug still affects me after several re-installs of Jaunty final.
Using a usb mouse to get around it.
I think the use-agent option should not be enabled by default.

Sound works fine now.
For some reason PCM was set to zero in the volume control. Somehow one
of the updates must have caused it to change, as I have never changed
that before.
But shame on me for not checking that before reporting a bug.

I also have this issue with my X40. I also had it with my dell inspiron
640m, which also had intel graphics. X40 running xubuntu 8.10, and the
dell was running Ubuntu 8.10

Proxy is set in both Gnome and APT. FFx works perfectly, command line apt or
Synaptic Package Manager and Update-Manager fail to connect to the proxy.

kvm option available in the Hypervisor selection box. So I can't get
past it, to test this.
When I run ls -alF /dev/kvm, I get a no such file or directory error.

It was happening every time I compressed files in 7zip with any
assortment of file types and groups. But, it seems to work fine now. It
must have been fixed when something else was fixed.
My guess is that we can close this bug. And just in case, I am using
EXT3.
