Mark, I can confirm that running the senaste version (5.3.3.2) of LO on
Linux Mint 18.1, the keyboard shortcuts «Ctrl+G» and «Ctrl+Shift+F5» behave
precisely as you describe above for windows. I agree that it's hard to
imagine anything faster, without a chip installed in the brain ;-)

[libreoffice-users] LO download sites differ per language

2017-05-26 Thread Pieter van der Burg
Hi, i spent a lot of time re-installing LO on a W10 64bit PC which i had to
reset from scratch (virus). I ran into the following problem (using the
dutch language site): Downloaded ok (only 1 choice, so what). Then could
not find JRE. Repeated the install several times untill i installed an 86
version of the JRE. That worked fine. But i want everyting to run using the
full 64bits program versions. Through the ask.libreoffice forum i was
advised to look at the english download site. There you had indeed the
choice between 86 and 64 (which you do not have on the dutch site)
Downloaded and worked fine. I assume more language download site have this
inconsistency. It is a good way to scare people away from LO. Someone
should look into it.
Greetings from the Netherlands

Re: [libreoffice-users] Base Subsection reporting

2017-05-26 Thread jorge
Hi Pieter and all:

As first answer but not necesary the best, BASE has it own report way,
but before you can filter or use query or mix tables data to make
consultation (Option below Tables at left). Then, after you make it, you
can go to Form option (The last option at left).

In both options you can use Wizzards or make by your self. I suggest
you to use Wizzards to probe how is going on and if you like the
results. If not, try by your self, but this need to know better the
program performance.

As I remember, Base generate a Report in Writer program that you can
edit after.

I hope this help,

Re: [libreoffice-users] calc (5.2.7-1) undo redo problems

2017-05-26 Thread Tom Davies
Hi :)
You don't have to get ALL the information together before posting the
bug-report. Bugzilla, the place where your report ends up, is much like a
normal email = you can add more comments (like replies) to it later either
to add greater detail, or attach reports or screen-shots or whatever or to
correct any mistakes or clarify ambiguities or whatever.

The most important thing is the "subject line". Keep it succinct. Like a
bullet-point of what the problem is.

DON'T mention that it's "a problem", nor that you "want help", nor that
it's to do with "libreoffice". ALL the problems on the libreoffice
bugzilla site are problems with libreoffice that people need help with. So
repeating that in the subject-line is extraneous "noise" which the devs
find painful. ;) Avoid that and you are a step ahead of sooo many
bug-reports that a dev might enjoy your report.

Regards from
Tom :)

I also found that copy/paste from another document can include a style
from that document.
Style management is something I do as I go, I even have a "cleansing"
document as an intermediary to ensure I don't inadvertently copy
unwanted styles into the document I am creating.
I recently found the style replacement feature in LO which helped me
remove some unwanted styles and that worked a treat.

Mode 2 for italic lower case greek symbols has been set as the default,
tdf#105483
was resolved for 5.4 with
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=68155a68578a0f4066c1c566c2d378bbae05c216

but the patch to use value 2 by default was rejected for backport to the 5.3
release.

Until moving to a 5.4 build, users so inclined can set the "GreekCharStyle"
stanza with a simple search/edit in expert configuration.
