If/When I need it to go to a warranty repair service, I have to give them a Windows password so these people can test it out before and after they do the work. If there is only Ubuntu installed, then they will tell me it is Linux that is part of the trouble. I gave the repair people the Win10 and Ubuntu passwords, but it came back with a lot of Windows changes - including the splash and background images messed with. At least most of the data and Win10 packages remained the same. Right now, if the hard drive is big enough, I give Windows 10 between a third to a forth of the total drive. The rest goes to Ubuntu. Right now on the ASUS laptop I gave Win10 about 200 GB of space and then gave the rest to Ubuntu. 40 GB partition for the "/" root folders and a few GB for the swap partition. The rest goes for the "/home" partition. Hopefully, this will allow me to keep my data when I have to install Ubuntu from scratch again. The laptop I am typing from has only 500 GB so I split it in two. I need enough space to run some space hungry packages and its data that only works on Windows. It does not work correctly installed on a Virtual Windows "box" or via WINE. Most of this stuff is the Corel PaintShop package and the printing of labels directly onto CD. or DVD, media. I decided, for now, not to install these packages onto the ASUS Windows partition till I fix all the issues. I do not want to waste time and "hair" dealing with repeat installations of the Win10 partition and its software. -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

[libreoffice-users] Portrait printing problems redux - printer tray sensor issue?
While I have not had this problem up until today, I understand that this problem has cropped up from time to time and no one has yet resolved the source. I have OSX 10.11.6 and just recently updated to LO 5.4.0.3 - print at issue is an HP Deskjet 8500 A910 Suddenly LO documents show up correctly in preview, but only appear in landscape in print dialog, and only print in landscape. All other applications appear to work fine. However, sometimes the document will appear correctly and will print correctly, but continued use of LO will then result in reversion to the landscape mode. There is nothing I can determine that causes the reversion to proper behavior. Deleting and reinstalling the printer does not seem to help. I tested changing the format to A4 and that seems to put things right, so I tested setting the dialog at letter but reducing the page width from 8.5 to 8.49, and that correct the problem as well... Is this likely some kind of page tray sensor issue? -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

As others have noted, the hack of setting the page width to 8.49 or to 8.51 seems to work fine, but what is causing the problem, and what is an effective solution to whatever is causing the underlying problem? -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Portrait-printing-problems-redux-printer-tray-sensor-issue-tp4220871p4220872.html Sent from the Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

You can link to tables, frames, graphics, OLE objects, sections, headings, or bookmarks. I trust this helps. [libreoffice-users] Saving error
Since upgrading to LO 5.4.0.3 I have been getting the following error message when I try to save a document. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling LO but still get the same result. It doesn't happen all the time or with all documents. The only way I have found of getting round the problem is to use the "Save All" function. The current Writer and Draw documents I'm working on are derived from templates created 18 months ago on whatever LO version was current at the time. Operating system is Windows 10 64 bit patched up to date. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or have any suggestions as to how I can get round it? Yes, that's right. I actually want the roman number 'iii' to appear in the automatic TOC as it does on the page being referenced.
