Re: [Users] Huawei config

2011-04-16 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
Thanks !

2011/4/17 Stanisław Czech s.cz...@nowatel.com

  In 1.5.0 this is no longer (necessarily) a custom MMSC. So you could add
 something like this:

  group = mmsc
  id=modem
  type = mm1
  mm1-sms-on-command = lynx -dump
  'http://localhost:13000/start-smsc?password=barsmsc=modemsmsc'
  mm1-sms-off-command = lynx -dump
  'http://localhost:13000/stop-smsc?password=barsmsc=modemsmsc'
  incoming-port = 13014
  mmsc-url = http://mms.orange.pl
  mm1-http-proxy = 192.168.6.104:8080
  mm1-msisdn=0048505505505
  mm1-gprs-on-command = /usr/local/mbuni/sbin/start-mms-gprs
  mm1-gprs-pid-command = cat /var/run/ppp-mms.pid|head -1

 IT WORKS :)

 Simply by changing custom-mms to this format everything started to
 work and I'm able to send mms. Thanks for the support.

 On the http://www.hardill.me.uk/wordpress/?p=17 Ben posted complete
 config for the ppp connection on Huawei if anyone would need it.

 After browsing few hours through various posts and sites I didn't find
 complete setup for Huawei modems (E220 or other). Does anyone have such
 working
 configuration (including pppd configurations etc) ?

 I know Emmanuel was looking for such configs a while ago.

 That would help a lot of guys here :)

 1.5.0 is out. More here: www.mbuni.org

 Hi All,

 I'm trying to set up MMS gateway.
 With the help of some blogs and Mbuni guide I'm able to set mmsc to an
 extent. I'm almost near setting mbuni as mmsc but still something is
 missing. This is project work of my course but need some guidelines to
 finish in time. Can you please take some time to help me with this or guide
 me if I'm going wrong

 Here is my mmsc.config file

 group = core
 log-file = /tmp/log/mbuni-mmsc.log
 access-log = /tmp/log/mmsc-access.log
 log-level = 0

 group = mbuni
 #name = My MMSC
 hostname = *.*.*.*
 host-alias = mmsc
 local-prefixes = +91;037;+25637;25637
 storage-directory = /tmp/spool
 max-send-threads = 5
 #send-mail-prog = /usr/sbin/sendmail -f '%f' '%t'
 #unified-prefix = +25637,037,37
 #maximum-send-attempts = 50
 default-message-expiry = 36
 #queue-run-interval = 5
 #send-attempt-back-off = 300
 sendsms-url = http://*.*.*.*:3001/cgi-bin/sendsms?
 sendsms-username = **
 sendsms-password = **
 mms-port = 1981
 mm7-port = 1982
 optimize-notification-size = true

 group = mmsc
 id = local
 mmsc-url = http://mbuni:test@localhost:1982/soap
 incoming-username = user
 incoming-password = pass
 incoming-port = 12345
 type = soap

 group = mms-vasp
 vasp-id = newscorp
 type = soap
 short-code = 111
 vasp-username = mbuni
 vasp-password = test
 vasp-url = http://user:pass@localhost:12345/

 group = mmsproxy
 name = A test mms proxy
 host = ds.co.ug
 allowed-prefix = +25635
 denied-prefix = 037

 Values of hostname, sendsms-username and sendsms-password are the one used
 in smskannel.conf.
 I dont know if group = mms-vasp and group = mmsproxy is required to send
 mms. Also I'm not sure
 if type = soap which is used in group = mmsc and in group = mms-vasp.

 I executed the following commands:

Hello Jamo,

To compose MMS check on Nokia MMS forum.

You can also use the HTTP API from Mbuni to send MMS:

# lynx -dump
http://localhost:10001/?username=altmmspassword=altmmsto=+687783548/TYPE=PLMNsubject=Test-MMStext=MMSTexte;

With a SMIL file:
# lynx -dump '
http://localhost:13501?username=password=from=xxxto=xxsubject=testesmil=http://localhost:84/main-allison.smil

The SMIL:

smil
head
meta name=title content=oi2 /
meta name=author content=MMS /
layout
root-layout width=160 height=160 /
region id=Image width=160 height=120 left=0 top=0 /
region id=Text width=160 height=20 left=0 top=120 /
/layout
/head
body
par dur=3s
img src=path_to_img region=Image /
/par
/body
/smil

Try to look on google and Mbuni list about this

If you want to use Mbuni as a MMS-C you will need a public IP address
because Mbuni will send a Notification to recipient (binary SMS) that will
make the recipient mobile connecting to GPRS/3G network and fetch the MMS
URL that will be something like http://mbuni_public_ip:port/path/to/mms

If you are using a gprs/3G modem to send your MMS then it is your MMS-C
provider who will deliver MMS to recipient and you don't need public IP
address, recipient mobile will fetch MMS stored on provider's MMS-C.

Regards,

Emmanuel

 @emmanuel how do you go about composing the mms's you attached? also do you
 need to have a public ip address to send mms's via a gsm network as i have
 tried sending them but on them from mbuni but on the handset it says,
 message retrieval failed what could be the issue?

 Hello,

 I am using Mbuni CVS
 I have configured Mbuni in order to access its admin interface:
 ...
 *group = mbuni
 storage-directory = /var/spool/mbuni
 max-send-threads = 5
 maximum-send-attempts = 50
 default-message-expiry = 36
 queue-run-interval = 5
 send-attempt-back-off = 300
 sendmms-port = 10003
 mmsbox-admin-port = 10005
 admin-password = mms
 admin-port-ssl = false*
 ...

 But I only got this when trying to access this URL:
 *http://127.0.0.1:10005/?password=mmscommand=statusmmsc-id=modem*

 *mmsbox /mmsbox*

 Screenshot attached

 What's wrong?

 I have followed Paul(s tutorial:
 *CVS now has the beginnings of the HTTP admin interface. No
 documentation updates yet, alas, but that should change over the coming
 hours.*
 *
 *
 *Briefly, you need to add the following config params to your mbuniconf
 group:
 *
 *
 *
 *mmsbox-admin-port = port_no*
 *admin-password = password*
 *admin-port-ssl = one_of_true_or_false*
 *
 *
 *You should then be able to access the HTTP admin port using*
 *
 *
 *http(s)://mbuni-host:port/?**password=passwordcommand=cmd**
 mmsc-id=mmsc*
 *
 *
 * In each case the HTTP response is XML formatted.*
 *
 *
 *The parameter 'cmd' is one of:*
 *- status: This spits out the status of the mmsc connection provided
 (if none is provided then status information for all active mmsc
 connections
 is provided)*
 *- start: This starts the mmsc connection whose ID (in the conf file)
 matches that provided (if none is provided then all are started)*
 *- stop: This stops the mmsc connection whose ID matches that
 provided (if none is provided then all are stopped)*
 *
 *
 *Feedback is welcomed of course.*
 *
 *
 *You will also notice additional updates in the Changelog,
 particularly with respect to dynamic configuration of Mbuni. (These
 are documented.)*

Re: [Users] Mbuni Nokia 6230 configuration (mmsbox-mm1)

2010-08-24 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
Yes it should be ok

Try to reach your MMS-C using *telnet 165.21.42.84 8080* when ppp0 is up
and rounting is done.
Or do this test with mbuni stop and launch ppd by hand *'pppd call
mobile-auth'*

If you succeed then maybe you post a bad MMS. What is the command you run to
post a MMS to Mbuni ?

 Did you replace these values by your config used in your provider
 network ?
 ie: your mmsc ip address your mmsc port ? and mms url ?

 You have to.

 Otherwise second solution below with routing.

 May be i've to check your second advice

 *
 maybe you can not reach your mms-c cause of some routing not
 configured, check your routing table after ppp0 is up and you can try to
 telnet mms-c_ip mmsc_port to see if you reach it.

 If not then you have to add a route to reach it, by hand first to test,
 then inside /etc/ppp/ip-up.

 Will get back to you very soon.

 I think Mbuni can not reach your MMS-C (provider), so try to see if
 your MMS-C proxy address and port is correct inside mmsbox.conf:

 In my case:

 *custom-settings = gprs-on=pppd call mobile-auth;gprs-pid=cat

 http://xxx.xxx.xx/mmsc;proxy=192.168.39.201:3130;msisdn=100*

 this part:

 *mmsc-url=
 http://xxx.xxx.xx/mmsc;proxy=192.168.39.201:3130;msisdn=100;

 *
 I think your problem may be here.*

Re: [Users] Mbuni Nokia 6230 configuration (mmsbox-mm1)

2010-08-24 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
What is you custom setting in mmsbox.conf?

It seems you keep ppp0.pid and didn't manage using ppp0-mbuni.pid.

Mbuni wait until this ppp0.pid file is created before sending the MMS BUT
Mbuni doesn't wait that the routing is done to reach MMSC so using ip-up
script you should create a ppp0-mbuni.pid lynk (symlink to ppp0.pid)
This symlink is created as soon as routing is done in ip-up script
*
mmsbox.conf in custom settings:

gprs-pid=cat /var/run/ppp0-mbuni.pid|head -1*

ip-down should contain the command to remove this symlink when ppp0
connection is closed

 When you use the mm1 module of mmsbox to send an MMS, you obviously cannot
 fake the sender. The MMSC pretty much always inserts a sender address for
 you, hence Mbuni removes the sender address and tells the MMSC to insert
 one.

 Yes, I know that in SMS messaging it is restricted,

 The thing is that I ask some info about how Mbuni handle these different
 parameters (sender, faked-sender, ...) because I have a behavior I don't
 understand where:

 - I have the string let's say *Sender* set in my config file,
 - I send my MMS
 - Inside mbuni logs I do see *'from sen...@unknown*'
 - In the pcap trace I don't see any value in *From* Header !! the field is
 empty
 - On my mobile phone I receive the MMS with +123456789 from value

 I think because the *From* value inside pcap trace is empty then MMS-C put
 the Sender modem MSISDN.
 So is there a problem when the sender is not a MSISDN address ?

 In mmlib/mms_util.c I found:

 *if (isphonenum(*address) || (typ  octstr_str_case_compare(typ,
 /TYPE=PLMN) == 0)) {
 mms_normalize_phonenum(address, unified_prefix, strip_prefixes);
 octstr_append(*address, keep_suffix ? octstr_imm(/TYPE=PLMN) :
 octstr_imm());
   } else if (typ)
 octstr_append(*address, keep_suffix ? typ : octstr_imm());
   else
 octstr_append(*address, keep_suffix ? octstr_imm(@unknown) :
 octstr_imm());
   octstr_destroy(typ);
 }*

 Not being an expert in C I wonder if Mbuni is able to replace a MSISDN
 address by a string and why it should add '@unknown' after the string.

 In any case even with this it don't seems to work as my From field value is
 empty...

 Maybe some Mbuni experts a some clues about this ?

 Regards,

 Emmanuel

 Don't know much about mbuni, but for sms messaging with gsm modems it
 is no possible to set the From variable. It allways will be the SIM
 phone number (MSISDN). This feature is restricted by the operators in
 general. You can do that with SMPP.

 As you connect through GPRS, it might be different.

 Better ask your provider if it is possible.

[Users] Re: Mbuni mmsbox DLR

2010-08-23 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
Ok I found out my issue.

I set dlr-url=http://192.168.0.x/path/dlr-mbuni.php and it works well
I had previsouly a filter in my dlr php script that prevent the script to be
triggered correctly.

I try now to develop the DLR script that can parse the Mbuni Request Headers
and update my MySQL database accordingly.

 Hello,

 After successfully having configured mmsbox to handle MM1 through GPRS
 modem (mm1-send-req), I try to configure DLR-URL:

 *How to handle DLR correctly ? I have some missundertanding.
 - What is the IP address to set in dlr-url parameter ?
 - How can I handle successful or failed status of an incoming MMS DLR in a
 PHP script (some examples ?)*

 I am using the following command to test the service:
 lynx -dump
 http://localhost:10003/?username=testerpassword=foobarmmsc=nokiaphoneto=%2B687783548/TYPE=PLMN+%2B687773502/TYPE=PLMNsubject=Testcontent-url=http://localhost/mms/mms-2.smil
 *dlr-url=http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/playsms/plugin/gateway/mbuni/dlr.php*

 What IP address do I have to set in order to trig the url ? Is it the one
 obtain after successfull pppd connection ? exemple below 10.152.227.254 ?

 *local  IP address 10.152.227.254
 remote IP address 10.6.6.6

Re: [Users] From Header value mmsbox with MM1 m-send-req

2010-08-21 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
Any help from some experts?

Best regards,

Emmanuel

2010/8/20 Emmanuel CHANSON emmanuelchan...@gmail.com

 I tested with 1010 as sender in the URL and 1010 also configured in
 fake-sender that overide the from url value:

 In mbuni log I see:

 bearerbox.c:1519 sendMsg [MM7] [n/a] Sent MMSBox Outgoing Queue MMS Send:
 *From 1010,* to +687773502/TYPE=PLMN, msgsize=25088:
 msgid=[B16C7CA0902E3919037AA6780EA962E2]

 BUT in the pcap trace I have that:
 ...
 Subject: Test 1010
 X-Mms-Expiry: Aug  26, 2010 15:22:21.0
 Date: Aug 20, 2010 02:22:21.0
 *From: insert address*
 To: +*msisdn*/TYPE=PLMN
 ...

 And MMS is received with the sender MSISDN instead of 1010.

 BR,

 Emmanuel

 2010/8/19 Alvaro Cornejo cornejo.alv...@gmail.com

 Have you tried a numeric From?

 The @unknown seems to come from the 2nd else in the code you quoted.
 This means that Sender is valued as false in

 if (isphonenum(*address) || (typ  octstr_str_case_compare(typ,
 /TYPE=PLMN) == 0))  and in if(typ)...

 What does that means... no idea

Any advises ? :(

Emmanuel

2010/8/10 Emmanuel CHANSON emmanuelchan...@gmail.com

 Hello,

 I am using Mbuni CVS
 I have configured Mbuni in order to access its admin interface:
 ...
 *group = mbuni
 storage-directory = /var/spool/mbuni
 max-send-threads = 5
 maximum-send-attempts = 50
 default-message-expiry = 36
 queue-run-interval = 5
 send-attempt-back-off = 300
 sendmms-port = 10003
 mmsbox-admin-port = 10005
 admin-password = mms
 admin-port-ssl = false*
 ...

 But I only got this when trying to access this URL:
 *http://127.0.0.1:10005/?password=mmscommand=statusmmsc-id=modem*

 *mmsbox /mmsbox*

 Screenshot attached

 What's wrong?

 I have followed Paul(s tutorial:
 *CVS now has the beginnings of the HTTP admin interface. No documentation
 updates yet, alas, but that should change over the coming hours.*
 *
 *
 *Briefly, you need to add the following config params to your mbuni conf
 group:*
 *
 *
 *mmsbox-admin-port = port_no*
 *admin-password = password*
 *admin-port-ssl = one_of_true_or_false*
 *
 *
 *You should then be able to access the HTTP admin port using*
 *
 *
 *http(s)://mbuni-host:port/?**password=passwordcommand=cmd**mmsc-id=mmsc
 *
 *
 *
 * In each case the HTTP response is XML formatted.*
 *
 *
 *The parameter 'cmd' is one of:*
 *- status: This spits out the status of the mmsc connection provided (if
 none is provided then status information for all active mmsc connections is
 provided)*
 *- start: This starts the mmsc connection whose ID (in the conf file)
 matches that provided (if none is provided then all are started)*
 *- stop: This stops the mmsc connection whose ID matches that provided
 (if none is provided then all are stopped)*
 *
 *
 *Feedback is welcomed of course.*
 *
 *
 *You will also notice additional updates in the Changelog, particularly
 with respect to dynamic configuration of Mbuni. (These are documented.)*

[Users] Mbuni MM1 behavior regarding ppp connection and MMS stored in queue

2010-08-09 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
I already reported this behavior but I think it is better to open a new
thread for this.

I notice that in my config, Mbuni connect and disconnect from ppp GPRS
connection for each MMS stored in queue.
Is it a normal behavior ?

Piotr told me that in its config:
*With settings similar to yours I get the behaviour when mbuni sends
everything that is queued and then disconnects. Maybe if you patch
mmsbox_mm1.c to add a 2 second sleep at end of inner loop in handle_mm1
function that will solve your problem.*

So should Mbuni connect and disconnect for each MMS ? Or can we set an
options to keep the ppp connection open until all MMS stored are sent ?

Others options:
- patch Mbuni to add a 2 second sleep ? If Piotr you can show me which
function to add in order to have the sleep ? Or anybody else :)
- manage pppd and ignore SIGTERM sent by Mbuni ? How to do this ?
- ...

Note: I am not a C expert :)

 I know I have had this problem on x86_64, I'm also sure, that it's
 solvable somehow (however I don't remember the actual solution). Maybe
 try:

 CFLAGS=-fPIC ./configure

 for both projects instead of --with-cflags option.

Re: [Users] Mbuni try to send POST MMS before GPRS connection is established

Wil try this advise.

Many thanks Piotr for your help, you sort me out from a big issue.

Regards,

Emmanuel

 With settings similar to yours I get the behaviour when mbuni sends
 everything that is queued and then disconnects. Maybe if you patch
 mmsbox_mm1.c to add a 2 second sleep at end of inner loop in
 handle_mm1 function that will solve your problem.

 On Thu, Aug 05, 2010 at 02:55:16PM +1100, Emmanuel CHANSON wrote:
  Yes, by default mmsbox.conf has the following config:

  default-message-expiry = 36
  queue-run-interval = 5
  send-attempt-back-off = 300
  sendmms-port = 10001

  max-send-threads set to 5 but Mbuni connect and disconnect for each MMS

  If this is normal behavior of Mbuni, need to check for a patch or a
 script

   You can always play with gprs-on and pid stuff; that would include
   setting idle timer in pppd and playing somehow with pids you pass to

   manages pppd and ignores SIGTERM's from mbuni)

Many thanks Piotr for your support, you helped me to solve this :)

I plan to developp a web interface that can use mbuni to send MMS.

Re: [Users] Mbuni try to send POST MMS before GPRS connection is established

2010-08-04 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
*Hello Piotr,

Still Mbuni does not want to wait after GPRS connection even with ip-up
script, do I miss something?

Following your advises I have configured:

in /etc/ppp/ip-up symlink to ip-up.sh:*
*#!/bin/sh

IFNAME=$1
LOCAL_IP=$4
REMOTE_IP=$5
IPPARAM=$6
MMS_PROXY=192.168.39.201

ip route add to $MMS_PROXY dev $IFNAME
# routing has been set up, so:
ln -sf /var/run/ppp-0.pid /var/run/ppp0-mbuni.pid
*

*Then in mmsbox.conf:*
*custom-settings = gprs-on=pppd call mobile-auth;gprs-pid=cat
/var/run/ppp0-mbuni.pid|head -1;port=3130;mmsc-url=
http://mms.xx.xx/mmsc;proxy=192.168.39.201:3130;msisdn=100*

*Intial ip routing:*

Yeah, thanks Piotr,

It seems better using 'nodetach', mbuni does not block anymore but retry to
send MMS
but I have an issue with routing to reach MMS-C, when pppd is established it
should set the route in ip-up script: ip route to 192.168.39.201 dev ppp0 I
guess?
Can I use route add -host 192.168.39.201 gw ppp0IP@ 10.152.149.196 show

Re: [Users] Mbuni try to send POST MMS before GPRS connection is established

2010-08-04 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
I forgot to add

/sbin before 'ip route' in ip-up script, now it is Ok

Things is Mbuni connect to GPRS, send the MMS and disconnect just after
although a second MMS has to be sent, reconnect, send it and disconnect?

Is it a normal behavior ? or is it possible to keep the ppp0 open and send
all MMS stored in spool before closing it ?

Many thanks Piotr for your support, you helped me to solve this :)

I plan to developp a web interface that can use mbuni to send MMS.

BR,

Emmanuel

 Sure. In basic configuration I used /sbin/route add -host $PROXY dev

Re: [Users] Mbuni try to send POST MMS before GPRS connection is established

2010-08-04 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
Yes, by default mmsbox.conf has the following config:

group = mbuni
storage-directory = /var/spool/mbuni
max-send-threads = 5
maximum-send-attempts = 50
default-message-expiry = 36
queue-run-interval = 5
send-attempt-back-off = 300
sendmms-port = 10001

max-send-threads set to 5 but Mbuni connect and disconnect for each MMS

If this is normal behavior of Mbuni, need to check for a patch or a script
that handle pppd

  Things is Mbuni connect to GPRS, send the MMS and disconnect just after
  although a second MMS has to be sent, reconnect, send it and disconnect?

 have you tried to set max-send-threads to something greater than 1?

 Also take a look at queue-run-interval and send-attempt-back-off
 settings.

  Is it a normal behavior ? or is it possible to keep the ppp0 open and
 send
  all MMS stored in spool before closing it ?

 You can always play with gprs-on and pid stuff; that would include
 setting idle timer in pppd and playing somehow with pids you pass to
 mbuni (you would need to create a kind of shielding script that
 manages pppd and ignores SIGTERM's from mbuni)

  Many thanks Piotr for your support, you helped me to solve this :)

  I plan to developp a web interface that can use mbuni to send MMS.

2010-08-03 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
One question:

Does Mbuni will open and close GPRS connection each time it will have to
send a MMS ? or does it keep the connection always open ?
Is it a good idea to keep the GPRS connection open in case a lot of MMS have
to be send through modem?

I will check about if-up script.

Others ideas maybe ? Just to confirm that it is a normal behavior and I
should not use pppd call gprs that lead to this behavior ?

BR,

Emmanuel

2010/8/3 Piotr Isajew p...@ex.com.pl

 You could also do this with proper if-up script. Mbuni tries to
 connect to MMS proxy when it sees pppd pid file. On other hand pid
 file is created _before_ interface IP and routing is set up. I solved
 this by symlinking ppp pid to some path in if-up after everything is
 set-up and making mbuni to look for a file on that path.

Re: [Users] Mbuni try to send POST MMS before GPRS connection is established

2010-08-03 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
Is it possible to get an example of the if-up/down script that deal with
ppp0.pid symlink so that Mbuni start to send MMS only after the ppp0
connection is established?

I notice that routing is also missing after the GPRS connection is
established that is why maybe mbuni POST nothing.
I need to set a route add mmsproxyip@ gw ppp0 in order to reach MMS-C

One question about the port parameter:
# Sample conf for MMSBox using a modem (MM1)
group = mmsc
id = modem
type = custom
custom-settings = gprs-on=pppd call mobile-auth;gprs-pid=cat
/var/run/ppp0.pid|head -1;port=3130;mmsc-url=
http://mms.x.xx/mmsc;proxy=192.168.39.201;msisdn=100;
mmsc-library = /usr/local/lib/libmmsbox_mm1.

Is it the same to use port=*3130* and mmsc-url=http://mmscurl;pro...@ip:*
3130* ? in the mmsbox.conf?
In my case I use port=3130 and does not set a :port on the proxy parameter
in mmsc-url

Regards  thanks for your help

 It opens connection once there is something in queue and keeps it open
 until processing queue is empty. In reality to achieve this you should
 have max-send-threads slightly higher than amount of modems
 used. I.e. for one modem you shoud have 2 sending threads. With one
 thread it will open and close the connection for each message.

  Is it a good idea to keep the GPRS connection open in case a lot of MMS

 If you have lots to send you could write fake start-gprs script that
 does nothing and start persistent pppd connection outside of
 mbuni. That could evolve to inteligent start-gprs script that starts
 gprs connection once something appears on queue and stays open for
 some idle period while cheating mbuni for closing connection (mbuni
 kills pid given in pid file when it does not need gprs connection any more)

 depends on your options. To be more specific using 'nodetach' option
 of pppd works better for me.

 I set mbuni to use wvdial but I shutdown kannel first and remove
 start/stop smsc from custom-settings command in mmsbox.conf to set only

Any chance to get a lead ?

Emmanuel

2010/3/18 Emmanuel CHANSON emmanuelchan...@gmail.com

 Thanks Cristian to help me.

 I did not modify this part of mmsbox.conf because I did not setup for the
 moment any mms service. So yes this directory does not exist but I don't
 need it for the moment, my aim is to send a MMS through GPRS mobile so no
 mms-service should be used in this case.

 I try different kannel/mbuni version as different config file but no way.

 Can some gurus of mbuni try to explain this error ? I have seen only one
 people one internet having this but no answers given.

 *ERROR: bearerbox.c:1525 sendMsg [MM7] [n/a] Retry later MMSBox Outgoing
 Queue MMS Send: From 100/TYPE=PLMN, to +x/TYPE=PLMN, msgsize=95:
 internal error, mm1 notify not started!

 *
 Mbuni does not shutdown the modem why ?
 *
 *Best regards,

 Emmanuel

  Hi,

 Can you confirm that the directory /var/www/html/images and the
 apache_pb.gif exist ….

 Other thing that you can confirm is if the apache is up, or if you have an
 alias correct in httpd.conf file …..because in your configuration file you
 have the

 group = mms-service
 name = fullmessage
 *get-url = **http://localhost/images/apache_pb.gif**
 *# http-post-parameters = fx=trueimage=%itext=%t
 accept-x-mbuni-headers = true
 keyword = thixs

 maybe something in the mmsbos.conf is not correct, look the groups … or
 find other mmsbox.conf in internet … there is a lot of examples.

  This is the port to which kannel must get/post incoming mms notification
 (sms).

 Should I use *ppd call gprs* or *wvdial* ? should it provide the same
 result ie a pppd connection to my operator ?
 *In my opinion wvdial is a easy fast way a user control a gprs modem, and
 I know that pppd looked scary at first, but after a few configurations you
 will have a great tool that your mbuni will use with ease, and I recommend
 you use the pppd script, the pppd mechanism saved me a few times already

Re: [Users] MMSBox and MM1 GPRS modem

2010-03-17 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON

*Mbuni does not shutdown the modem why ?
*
*Best regards,

Emmanuel

  Hi,

 Can you confirm that the directory /var/www/html/images and the
 apache_pb.gif exist ….

 Other thing that you can confirm is if the apache is up, or if you have an
 alias correct in httpd.conf file …..because in your configuration file you
 have the

 group = mms-service
 name = fullmessage
 *get-url = **http://localhost/images/apache_pb.gif**
 *# http-post-parameters = fx=trueimage=%itext=%t
 accept-x-mbuni-headers = true
 keyword = thixs

 maybe something in the mmsbos.conf is not correct, look the groups … or
 find other mmsbox.conf in internet … there is a lot of examples.

 I tried many things (even Mbuni CVS + Kannel recommended release) but I got
 always the same behavior, I am blocked since 3 days.

 I want to send a MMS from MMSbox to a phone, I used:

Accepted: Mbuni-msg.4983.x1.49.32

One thing, I don't have the same version of libcurl:

curl-7.19.7-7.fc12.i686
libcurl-7.19.7-7.fc12.i686
libcurl-devel-7.19.7-7.fc12.i686

I have a newer version, is it a problem?

Re: [Users] MMSBox and MM1 GPRS modem

2010-03-15 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
 that error a few times, but not in a command you are
 doing. Are you executing mbuni with sudo(root permitions) ? Does
 /var/spool/mbuni
 exist and has write permitions?

 *
 *is it linked to the issue?

 I do not really know. I think mbuni creates a mms file before sending it,
 maybe it’s the write permitions that are doing this.**

 *
 *- I do not see the smsc-id shutting down, why? because of a
 missconfiguration of mmsbox.conf? pppd or wvdial ?*
 *
 In fact mbuni does not start shutting down smsc-id = at... can we
 investiguate further ? how ? :(

 To this I may have a hint, you have a typo, either on the mail or the conf
 file

 custom-settings = smsc-on=lynx -dump '
 http://localhost:13000/start-smsc?password=**smsc=nokiaphone'; \
 smsc-off=lynx -dump '
 http://localhost:13001/stop-smsc?password=**smsc=nokiaphone'; \
 Both commands must be addressed to the same port* http://localhost:13001*,
 and check if 13001 is the admin-port on kannel conf file

 Example:

 group = core

 admin-port = 13001

 Hope to be of any help.

 If I stop my smsc through Kannel then I use wvdial I got this thinking the

Re: [Users] Re: [sendmms interface] Missing msgid ?

2009-12-08 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
You're right Paul!

SMIL url was not urlencoded and after that even if Mbuni accept for delivery
the POST url I had to correct the path of the logo.gif file.

For those who can have the same issue find below the POST URL I used in
order to send a picture located in /var/www/test/ directory of my server:

Smil content was the following:
smilbodyseq repeatCount=\indefinite\img src=test/logo.gif
dur=3s //seq/body/smil

with SMIL url encoded:

lynx -dump
http://localhost:10001/?username=altmmspassword=altmmsto=%2B687783548/TYPE=PLMNsubject=MMSsmil=%3Csmil%3E%3Cbody%3E%3Cseq+repeatCount%3D%22indefinite%22%3E%3Cimg+src%3D%22test%2Flogo.gif%22+dur%3D%223s%22+%2F%3E%3C%2Fseq%3E%3C%2Fbody%3E%3C%2Fsmil%3E

Regards,

Emmanuel

2009/12/9 Paul Bagyenda bagye...@dsmagic.com

 Two possible errors: SMIL content is not url encoded, and the referenced
 content (logo.gif) probably needs to be provided as a full URL so Mbuni can
 find it.

Re: [Users] Re: Kannel sms-service configuration in order to triggMbuni VASP and retrieve a MMS

2009-12-01 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
Thanks Nicos for these answers.

I know this is certainly feasible but I wondered if it was the correct way
to implement this or if it exist another way dedicated to this kind of
service (many used I thinked by VASP). So I needed a confirmation.

And about the second question, I understand VASP should already have some
content stored somewhere and its URL associated in order for sms-service to
trigg these contents by using I think parameters in the URL to get different
contents.

Will try...

Emmanuel

  Hi,

 I don't know much Mbuni VASP, but what you describe is certainly feasible.
 Have you tried it?

 You seem to know how to configure the sms-service for kannel (keywords,
 get-url). You can certainly point it to your local webserver and invoke
 sendmms with the appropriate arguments.

 I have a feeling, though, that this is not the intended way to work VASP.
 Mbuni VASP should have its own URL for this purpose, which you should invoke
 from SMS service with the appropriate arguments. Any VASP provider should
 have already the (MMS) content already uploaded to the VASP server. This
 should be detailed in VASP configuration.

 Nikos

 Hello,

 Has anyone already implement this config? (or know how to do this?)
 What sms-service config should I use in Kannel in order to trigg mbuni

 And on mbuni side, what step do I have to follow in order to offer a MMS

 I have to create the MMS and store it somewhere, then what URL to use in
 sms-service to start the MMS downloading from the mobile..

Re: [Users] [MMSBox] sendmms CGI script and Kannel sendsms notification / Nothing received on the mobile

2009-11-16 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
Thanks Paul,

I will investiguate further on this. I would ike to use both to make tests.

Regards,

Emmanuel

2009/11/16 Paul Bagyenda bagye...@dsmagic.com

 You run Mbuni MMSC if you want to behave like an operator, switching
 messages between phones (and perhaps other networks or VASPs). You run Mbuni
 MMSBox if you are a VASP, connecting to an operator to send/receive messages
 through them. That's the key difference between the two modes and is
 important to understanding how to use the two together.

 Hello Paul,

 So I am using sendmms CGI script to send a MMS to such recipient and I
 expect it to be delivered or at least that a notification is received by the
 recipient.
 Although it is Ok using mmssend tool, no notification goes to the
 recipient when I use CGI script. I am sending only text in this case, is it
 the reason why I don't have notification?

 Another question:
 Can MMBox stores and delivers MMS to people that ask for such content
 through a SMS or MMS service ? (logo, ringtones, etc...). I think this is
 the role of the MMBox? For what can be used MMbox in fact.

2009-11-16 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
I think you have to configure *host-alias* like this to get your MMS:

hosalias = my public IP/mms/mm1

 Thanks Paul,

 I just wanted to get clarified on that route, thought maybe I was missing
 squid.

 Coming back to the problem I got the point that it might be GPRS APN
 problem, so trying to configure that part
 in the mobile, I have the following configuration for MMSC

 Is it correct to give my public IP/mms/mm1 in my mobile as mmsc settings
 for the following configuration?

 group = mbuni
 name = INSI_MMSC
 hostname = my public IP
 hosalias =  same as above
 local-prefixes = 0
 storage-directory = /var/www/mms
 max-send-threads = 1
 send-mail-prog = /usr/sbin/sendmail -f '%f' '%t'
 maximum-send-attempts = 2
 default-message-expiry = 36
 queue-run-interval = 2
 send-attempt-back-off = 2
 sendsms-url = http://localhost:13013/cgi-bin/sendsms

 sendsms-username = tester
 sendsms-password = foobar

 mm7-port = 1982

Re: [Users] [MMSBox] sendmms CGI script and Kannel sendsms notification/ Nothing received on the mobile

2009-11-13 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
Hello Nikos,

Ok so you mean in case of an MMS that includes only text, we do not receive
any notification?

Why is the second message size bigger than the first one including a
picture?
Has anybody an example of how to send a content (SMIL or whatever) using CGI
parameter? I don't see anything in the Mbuni documentation.

Regards,

Emmanuel

2009/11/13 Nikos Balkanas nbalka...@gmail.com

  Hi,

 In the first case the push is 132 B and fits 1 SMS

 In the 2nd case push is 148 B and is split in 2 SMS. I don't know what
 coding mbuni is using, but if the push is 8-bit or 7-bit + Udh length 160,
 then it should split.

 As far as notification goes, I imagine that in the first case, that you
 have a picture, you get a notification to get it. In the second case that
 you don't have anything, what to be notified for?

 BR,
 Nikos

Re: [Users] [MMSBox] sendmms CGI script and Kannel sendsms notification / Nothing received on the mobile

2009-11-13 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
Hello Paul,

I am trying to understand how work MMSC and MMBox together (I am new to
MBuni).

Regards,

Emmanuel

2009/11/13 Paul Bagyenda bagye...@dsmagic.com

 I'd need to understand how MMSBox and the MMSC are working together. Note
 that their roles and uses are of course different. Can get confusing...

Re: [Users] Mbuni and squid config / need help

2009-10-29 Thread Emmanuel CHANSON
Thanks Paul, will see but if squid is needed for MSISDN headers I will just
configure mbuni to work with 3130 port directly for the moment.

 I don't recall the exact configuration for squid. I use Apache's
 mod_rewrite typically to do this. Much easier, if a little less wide-spread.

 2009/10/28 Paul Bagyenda bagye...@dsmagic.com

 Squid is required if you have some custom script that adds the MSISDN
 header to the HTTP header prior to passing the data to Mbuni, or if you need
 to translate the request URL from the phone (say http://mmsc) to the real
 mbuni URL (say http://localhost:8191/ )

 In terms of configuring the phone, you should put in a URL that can (one
 way or the other) be translated into the Mbuni host and port.

[Users] Re: Mbuni MMS retrieve from Openwave SDK

I succeed to send MMS from mmssend to a mobile that retrieve it so my

 Still trying to send an retrieve mms using mmssend:

 #  mmssend -f +687xx -t +687x -m /home/manu/softs/Mbuni/cat.mms
 /etc/mmsc.conf

 Notification is received by the mobile, then I catch the fetch url in the
 log because my MMSC is not reachable in the operator netswork from my mobile
 so I use Openwave SDK and try to retrieve the MMS but I get an error:

 Unsupported content type...

 My url is:
 Preparing to notify client to fetch message at URL:
 http://61.5.221.52/mmsc/mm1/qf8019.2.x40...@2/wx66

 But on Openwave i put http://61.5.221.52:*8191*/mmsc/mm1/qf8019.2.x40...@2
 /wx66
 and I get this error above.

 The log from mbuni during a retrieve test from Openwave (attached)

 Any idea?

 mbuni URL (say http://localhost:8191/ )

 In terms of configuring the phone, you should put in a URL that can (one
 way or the other) be translated into the Mbuni host and port.

 Can someone explain why and how to use squid in the system? Do I have to
 use it to reach mms-port 8191?

 I try also to find which port should be configured in my mobile phone to
 reach my MMSC is this the parameter called:
 mms-port (8191 by default) ?

 So my config to reach mmsc should be http://ip_adress:8191 ?
