like to share performance
enhancement experiences working with this so-called
obsolete work horse (the IIci). To start, what would
you recommend to buy as an accelerator since they seem
to be so inexpensive (finally)?

The Mac IIci can be upgraded to 128MG RAM.

Now the interesting question is... since the
Performer

cCPUs) form the L.E.M. Swap list.

The version of Performer I'm using was originally

anyone know or can point me to any reference manual or
schematic that will allow me to understand how to take
apart an Image Writer so that I can clean the print

Bob,
I will appreciate those pages. I have several Image
Writer II Owner's guides and, for example, on the one
published in 1989, on pages 98-99, there are clenaing
instructions but they don't go beyond cosmetics and
there is nothing at all about cleaning the print
mechanism itself.

OS installed in the same
startup drive is to change the name of one of them -
E.G. by adding a letter or number to the System file.
That technique works with a Mac IIci and should also
work on your Mac.

Hia all,
This may be off topic but because there's been talk

Scott,
Check out the L.E.M. Swap link where you can advertise
for an RGB monitor. There are still many available in
fair to good condition and your costs will be more in
the shipping than the monitor itself.
