ARM9 CPU, which is running a cross-compiled version of
XFree86 4.3.0 on linux 2.4.18.
I noticed that XFree86, at start-up, makes a complete
scan of 256 possible PCI buses, looking for devices,

I installed 4.1.0 version of xfree86 for solaris 8 x86. I can't seem to
configure the xfree86 correctly. When I run the configuration, I get a low
resolution screen with working mouse. When I try to ctrl-alt-backspace from it,
it hangs.

Most cards are not programmed via vga IO ports anymore.
They are programmed via memory mapped registers and there is
not a standard for this. They are different for every vendor.
