Is there any way to retrieve mail from a single catchall pop3 account to be sorted
into user mailboxes at the xmail server?

I have been thinking about IMAP4 and the great functionallity
about storing messages on the mailserver.
Is this a function that exists in POP3 in any way..?
I am no expert on the POP3 commands but have understood that

That's what it's made for ;-)
Without knowing your details it's hard to give you a 'working' config but
all the files which have to be configed are:
\pop3links.tab - info on external pop3 mailbox
\domains.tab- info about localy treated domains
\mailusers.tab - info on local users
In most mail clients you find an advanced setting leave mail on server.
I know in outlook it is.
normal pop3 protocol looks like this : (u can try this with a telnet session
to pop3.server.host.com port 110.)

USER [EMAIL PROTECTED]
PASS your_password
LIST
