SAD light fixtures are expensive.  If the red light and 50% rose gradient 
sunglasses help then you might want to consider investing in one of the SAD 
lights.  Some people never need to graduate to them because the glasses and red 
light bulb keep things under control.  The important thing is that the red 
light 
enters your eye directly.  Just having it on the the room will not help much.  
I 
would not stare at it, however, but have it across the room next to the TV 
while 
you are watching TV or something like that.
