For support for a concrete driver you can ask the System Imager team
so they add it for future releases.

Although making a huge kernel with most possible drivers compiled I
think it can not be much reliable.

In my case the driver needed was only found in kernel 2.6 series and
thats why I got the unstable system imager source code.. it has a
kernel 2.6 and a default config in the path I mentioned.. I modified
that config.. compiled the kernel and compile the initrd.

I suggest you try it..

I have been trying other ways and this is the fastest, easier I found.
