Although I second moving to a DVCS, I wonder why git was choosen.

Personally, I just switched away from git to mercurial [1]. Firstly
the command interface is much clearer and secondly git really sucks on
windows. I planned to write a response to the "CVS (was RPM)" thread
adressing this issue, but completely forgot about it.

In my experience, git is to mercurial what MySQL is to PostgreSQL.

PS: It was only last week, that google announced to support mercury and
not git for google code [2].
