Lurch, > And now for a simple question. If the MG and DG are forming emulsion during the wash cycle, if the emulsion is drained off wouldn't that leave behind fuel that had MG and DG removed and hence better quality fuel?
Perhaps a fair theory, but there would still be an unquantified amount of mono- and di-glycerides exterior to the emulsion. If it's better quality fuel that a home-brewer is shooting for, trying to rinse out the unconverted glycerides is not the best option. Striving for reaction completion makes better use of resources - chemical, time, fuel and financial - not to mention reduces waste. The resulting predetonation would ruin the engine almost instantly. If the compression ratio was 13:1 it wouldn't run on any fuel found at local pumps. It is important that no one try this and ruin their hybrid! > > And now for a simple question.
