Kristen,

Some of the answers to your questions should be perfectly obvious.

First, the reason for a negative reception is reather clear. Why should a
person drop $100 at at pop for a test kit? If a person's (or company's)
processing methods are so poor as to not withstand a few simple homebrewer's
tests for glycerin, they shouldn't be in "the business" in the first place.

Second, the vast majority of those into biodiesel are of the barnyard
variety. Those who are involved commercially are already having their fuel
tested professionally, although probably not as frequently as it should be.
Your kit is not acceptable by ASTM standards, so there is no "outstanding"
need for a commercial manufacturer to utilize it.

You might care to actually perform some biodiesel reactions, complete with
proper water washing, and then implement your kit on your own fuel. If
you've prepared your fuel correctly, you 'll find your kit to fall outside
the realm of usefulness every time when comparing to ASTM spec.
