You are asking on the wrong list... There is a list
dedicated to plugins ( and there are plugin
developers,
especially those who are in charge of EJB stuff ) 


XDoclet is apparently running, so the problem is
inside plugin ( template ) 

And EJB plugins are not yet released - they are under
development. So templates could be just empty.

It is indeed easier due to better templating engines,
and better tag architecture ( self validating  , etc.
)
