No,
I see it as possibly a simpler way to back up, soon to degenerate, old
programs to a CD and to load again.
I just transmit, burn, play on CD player back into computer, save to a new
disk the program/disk that has degenerated beyond use.

To transmit a program via modem to microphone input into a PowerMac to burn
into CD seems easier to me than dealing with 400K disks and 800K disks in
the newer disk drives. I don't have to find compatible OS that can "read"
the program and then burn it to CD. By using programming converted to
sound, the computer burning the CD only has to recognize the sounds - not
have to be able to "understand" the program. If I can input it back from
audio to the computer with the originating OS, then it should be able to
process the audio back into the program and save it back onto an undamaged
disk.

I ask if it can be done. There are experts on this list who know either
that it is not possible or know what I need to do to do it.

Does that help explain why?
I don't want to do it just to do it.
