Yup, there's a real hack. Some Japanese guy figured it out. It's more involved than the 640x480 hack for the Color Classic and Color Classic II. Once converted, the 12" RGB will only do 640x480. I just did some searching and didn't find the site with the 12" hack. Maybe someone else has it bookmarked or saved the info. My bet on the image getting slowly blurry as it warms up is either the flyback transformer is going bad or there's a weak capacitor in the circuitry that keeps it focussed. What you could try is adjusting the Focus control on the flyback transformer after it's warmed up and blurry. If that works, consider it a stopgap measure until you can fix it properly. Popsicle sticks whittled into flatblade adjusting tools work fine for monitor tweaking. But usually the Focus and Screen (master Brightness) knobs stick out of the side of the flyback far enough and away from things that can zap you, that' it's safe to use your fingers to adjust them. If the flyback transformer is so defective that there's high voltage leakage, chances are there's no picture on the screen to be adjusted for focus and brightness. ;) Just keep away from the large wire plugged into the top of the flyback!
