I does appear that the Google groups can be used in the same way that Yahoo
groups do. You can subscribe and control using the old-fashioned mail addresses.

A blank message To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] does get processed.
I discovered that ,when I went to sign up that way, Google already had my
account set up. I donno who did that.

No service agreement to sign. No divulging of personal information that
wouldn't be cataloged by Google anyway. No requirement for a gmail address.

The only problem I have had is that I couldn't subscribe to compact.macs. I
have since learned that it no longer exists and my lack of knowledge about that
may well be that I didn't get the announcement via the Google processor. I
still don't know how I would find out about the current makeup of LowEndMac
groups I don't subscribe to.

I also have no idea if this is getting posted to both sites. I did a "reply to"
so it's going first to vintage.macs@mail.maclaunch.com

Applescript syntax is like English spelling:
Roughly, but not thoroughly, thought through.
