Rossi said (someone reported?) that they started the 1MW with a "full" load of hydrogen, but it started to run away. So they stopped it and lowered the hydrogen pressure -- resulting in the 1/2 MW self-sustained value. 3 cores, for sure.
(Or it's an elaborate costume hoax, of course ... )
