The REAL reaction in a nutshell, two items are required to make the "popper" explode; EUV and Nano-clusters. The "catalysts" produce plasmonically amplified EUV produced initially by the electric arc. The water provides the nano-clusters that vigorously expand via coulomb explosion. It is not that complicated.
