Don't forget, there *are* worse possibilities than Carol Marvin running the DEMF.
I think it is important to remember that, regardless of the lineup, and fully respecting the decision of each featured artist to perform or to decline, those of us who attend the festival are there because it is about the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, and not about Carol Marvin. The fact that it *is* about the Festival in such a strong way is, in my mind, a continuing tribute to the vision and the focus that Carl Craig had. So that's just where I stand. I also think it's important to give full consideration to all the available facts when assessing the job that Carol Marvin is doing, or anyone else involved. If she were here giving her side of all the controversies, maybe we would be more inclined to support her. And maybe not. But she's not here, so the fairest approach is to take all the available info into account instead of just leaping to conclusions. For example, it should be acknowledged that she recruited an excellent panel to put together the lineup. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
