i agree. there is definately a gap due to carl's lack of participation. but also, even if all the big Detroit guys get paid their standard fee, then that's still not nearly as expensive as last year with flying in dozens of international artist.
also, i'm quite certain that the first DEMF lost quite a bit of money. it seems as though there has been money troubles throughout. carol probably kept this one cheap so she can finally get in the black. my point is, anyone who protest corporate sponsorship is being unrealistic. it cost a ton of money to put on the DEMF and it has to come from somewhere.
