I dunno, maybe because I take it seriously as a musical form? Because American Dance Music pretty much rules the rest of the world, while most American Techno artists are lucky to make as much money as the assistant manager of a used car dealership? Because it's an indigenous novel, indigenous art form? Why ask why?
