To be fair, this is a statement that it's trendy now to play records at
normal 
tempo and house music is more trendy than techno at least on this mailing
list.
People here seem to feed off the vibes of the deephousemusicpage but from
what I read even dj's like Ron Hardy had a reputation of pitching his
records up.
I have fond memories of watching Derrick Carter play Computer Madness by
S. Poindexter at +6 and doing some damage with early '90s Chi- trax.
Of course watching Jeff Mills spin techno for the first time was a bit of a
revelation even though I like listening to classic techno at normal tempo.
