Tax refund? Meron pero ngayong year 2004 lang. The last three years laging meron kaming dapat bayaran. There was even a time that we paid more than $8K when we filed our tax return. That tax year kasi dami naming OT ng husband ko tapos wala pa kaming anak kaya ang laki ng resulting tax. Pero hindi maganda yun kasi nagbayad pa kami ng additional $250 na penalty kasi maliit daw yung tax na na-withheld sa amin. Hay naku, kaya after nun pareho na kaming nag-option 0. Eto namang 2004, nagkaroon kami ng refund dahil nasobrahan namin yung pinapa-withheld na tax sa suweldo ng husband ko. Kasi option 0 siya pero nagdagdag pa kami ng $500 every suweldo (which is every two weeks) para sa tax. Hay naku, ang laki ng tax na binabayaran, sa Halliburton, este sa war in Iraq, lang naman napupunta yung pera :( Kaya nga mina-maximize namin yung 401K contribution namin para bumaba yung taxable income. Regarding, priority date retrogression ng i-485, naku wala akong balita. Sabi ng husband ko, mga 1.5 years daw yung period between 140 and 485 approval. Ok lang, basta meron ka namang EAD.
