Greetings,

I've been happily using 64 Studio for quite a while now. It is remarkably stable, and I still say that it's one of the best Linux distributions available.

Alas, my version (2.1) is falling behind in many ways. I need a number of new apps and components, but they are not available for the current system. Some of the more prominent items include recent JACK and the latest GTK and QT toolkits. As always, developers are moving forward faster than the distros can keep up.

I plan to check out the latest Planet CCRMA, and I also plan to install one of the newer systems, maybe Arch. However, I have no plan to eliminate my 64 Studio installation, it remains my main system here at Studio Dave.

I read references to a pre-3.0 64 Studio. Does it address my need, i.e. can I build SVN Ardour 3 sources with it ? If so, how can I go about setting that up here ? A detailed guide would be nice, but any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Best,

dp
