I did and do understand, but there is no more information about what
happens, resp. you has forgotten, that there also was the message
"timeout". I was troubleshooting for the situations when jackd crashed
and not looking for hints about this error message.

Yes, but because there only seems to be serious trouble with jackd
there's hope. Btw, there's a new BIOS that "fix the problem that system
may hang on post when use AM2 cpu". I'm not sure what this means, but
maybe it means that the system won't crash totally, but some processes,
e.g. jackd might hang, jack might interpret this as a "timeout". If so,
I only wonder why this only will happen to jackd and e.g. not to Icedove
and why this won't happen, when running Windows, that's why I don't
believe that the latest BIOS will fix my trouble with jackd.
