-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi :)
does anybody know if a LG Electronics GH-22NS SATA bulk DVD drive is fine with 64 Studio, resp. with Linux? My old DVD drive, a LG GSA-4040B was fine with Linux, only 64 Studio wasn't able to support DVDRAM and sometimes K3b from some distros wasn't able to burn -R DVDs, only +R DVDs could be burned, so I had to use Nautilus for -R. It's a low-coast drive, http://www.reichelt.de/?;ACTION=3;LA=2;GROUP=E621;GROUPID=724;ARTICLE=83079;START=0;SORT=artnr;OFFSET=16;SID=31llamWawQAR8AACV1Hs012269230b71f9f6ccb811b8be5d197ab. Also low-cost is the LG Electronics GH22NPRBBB, but it's just P-ATA, http://www.reichelt.de/?;ACTION=3;LA=2;GROUP=E621;GROUPID=724;ARTICLE=84242;START=0;SORT=artnr;OFFSET=16;SID=31llamWawQAR8AACV1Hs012269230b71f9f6ccb811b8be5d197ab. It's not sure that the drive is broken, I tried 2 CD-ROM readers on the same port and they didn't work, but they didn't cause crashes, like my actually GSA-4040B does with several Linux and Windows and sometimes the GSA-4040B works and then the OSs crash, so I guess the drive is broken. I'll check it with a friend's computer tomorrow. I guess (nearly) all DVD drives will be fine with 64 Studio, resp. any Linux, but it can't be false to ask, if somebody knows this drive as unusable with Linux.
