I don't care about blonde moments most of the time and especially not
about what others think of it (I try it at least ;) )

But it was a bit early and I was in a hurry, so I realized later, I
probably made a little blunder :)

So I also forgot to mention, I didn't have wireless internet with 3.0
rt2500 chipset ;)

Anyway. I think you understand my criticism. And with my criticism I
have also newbies for Linux audio in mind (I'm planning to advise
64studio for newbies, but then it should be better then ubuntu studio
for example of course...). And also with the development of linux audio
application in mind.

Look, experienced Linux users (I'm becoming one ;) ) will find there
way. If the apps are in the repo, in good condition and up-to-date,
people just have to do a aptitude install...
But apps which are not in a regular distro, like LV2 plugins/apps,
jconv, (gt)klick and Vst configuration (FST, dssi-vst, wineasio) , but
which are good for audio production should be in 64studio, *at least
available in the repo* (experienced users can compile themselves,
newbies not...).

Also apps which are easy to use (have a nice GUI) like qtractor and
LMMS, would be good for 'newbies' imho. Ok I know lmms has not a very
decent jack support, but people work nice with ALSA. Also, like I told
before, it gives the opportunity to use the samples of LMMS in apps like
qtractor.

If you include apps, it could be good for the development of the apps.
Of course it couldn't be the only reason to implement them, but if we
always stuck with the 'old fashion apps' (which are good, especially for
the experienced linux users(!)), we also don't encourage the
development of other new apps. I'm thinking in this context about LV2,
rakarrack (guitar software) and a wysiwyg notation editor like
musescore or nted (which I find promising).

About the lay-out: people who are using vista of osx are used to a
pretty modern lay-out. It would be nice if you could improve the lay-out
of 64studio, a lot of people who 'try-out', seems to see it as a big
point...
You could ask some artist to make a theme and some wallpapers (you don't
have to do everything yourself).
And you know my opinion about the menu..

Ok. The rest you can find in my previous mail.

Good luck.
