My systems are
* 64 Studio 2.1 Etch 32bit
* Suse 11.1 64bit
* Suse 11.0 64bit
* 64 Studio 2.1 Lenny 64bit
* 64 Studio 2.1 Etch 32bit
* Windows XP Pro 32bit
This has to do with the problems that are exclusive included in each
Linux distro ;), e.g. you wish to use LightScribe.
For Suse you can use LightScribe at 64bit systems, for 64 Studio the
32bit driver don't work with the 64bit version.
For Suse 11.0 LightScribe force to remove w32codec-all. This is just one
example.
There's a lot of software that does not run with every Linux, that's why
I need more than one Linux and ...
because I can't do audio productions with my hardware, using Linux, I
checked a lot of distros and kernels, before I installed Windows.
My first choice would be only to have 1 Linux and no other OS, but there
isn't any Linux fine for my needs.
I won't throw away the old PATA drive, just because there are troubles
for Linux, by mixing drives. Once you know the problems some kernel
modules have got, it's easy to handle.
Cheers,
Ralf
