I'm reporting bugs here ;) if it's an distro issue and not an application problem. >> If you produce, you also need to know if it's fine with consumer >> applications. That's why people should report which applications they are using, even if the applications are fine and especially if they have bugs or simply stupid default preferences. >> I hope suggestions are still welcome. There are different "religions" and freethinkers or noobs are the less welcome the more they are right. The Suse-Packman-Flame-War starts with Suse 11.1 rc, just with bug reports, but I was the only one who dared to report it to the right list. When it was proved that I was 100% right all postings in forums were deleted! Remember the LAD and JACK and ARDOUR list, first I was the troll, JACK should be fine for everyone, they all worked with JACK and after a while all users had broken rt-audio Suses because of JACK packages that never worked. The people which claimed to work with those packages at the beginning stand convicted to be liars. This is one of those situations were I had troubles. BACK TO THE TOPIC ;) ... German Linux and computer mags come with manipulated versions of distros where all codecs, "most comfortable" applications etc. will be installed by doing the standard installation. I don't like manipulated distro versions from Linux and computer mags, because a lot of people run into troubles, if they need to change some things after the installation, because in these special versions often are special bugs too. A target should be to get distros more comfortable for all people and not only Linux and computer fans, it should be fine for people that won't take responsibility for every simple detail. There shouldn't be the need for Linux and computer mags to offer special versions of distro releases, like the actual Ubuntu.
