Yes, that is what I'm talking about - if you can show stats on the
disk that indicate it was being overused, that's a good indication.
Anything else is speculation.

Sometimes you just get unlucky.  I had a hard drive
fail within 2 weeks of purchase.  I've had others that were over a
decade old when I got them, still working, a decade later.
