Michael, when you report errors, you pretty much have to assume that anyone
reading your mail has no time to go back and read earlier messages and
reconstruct your state. The old saying: "if people don't understand you,
that's your fault" applies here. Many of us are dealing with bug reports,
on multiple projects, and it's very hard to remember the details of all
earlier messages. I have a hard enough time remembering what I did
yesterday. I have to keep a google doc with various projects just to keep
track.

It's not a big deal for you to add one line: on my t420, my dell 3 button
fails in the following manner: blah blah.

Or
my Dell whatever with a sandisk cruzer whatever won't boot 9front

Anything. You're not giving enough, at least for me, to remember what's
going on. My memory is bad that way.

That gives us something to work with. And it's one line. Assume each
message you send is being seen for the first time ever: what do people
need to know?
