HI Thomas I don't think that the main use of DVD REGION+ CSS FREE is to change anything in firmware cause when u use it DVDs work and when you disable it ( not revert order) DVDs stop working( DVDs with different region ) , but it seems that the option " Enable DMA " is designed to mess up with something big cause it has no " Disable DMA ". Well ill try Flashing What do you think about: Backing up my drive -shouldn't be dangerous- with MTK flash (dos) and then use LTN flash to flash the drive I also forgot to say that LTN flash can't flash IDE port (Fix misflahed drives). thanks -----Original Message----- From: N. Well it looks like attempting to 'region free' the drive has screwed up the firmware. I don't see any value in backing up messed up firmware. You should use the Liteon provided Windows flash program to reprogram the firmware. I've used it many times without problems, just close all your applications befor doing it. There's really little risk of messing up the drive any more than is currently is. If necessary, you can always replace this DVD-ROM drive for about $30 at current prices. <http://us.adserver.yahoo.com/l?M=298184.6191685.7192823.3001176/D=group s/S=:HM/A=2593423/rand=824104903> [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] If you have any questions or problems with any aspect of this site, please feel free to contact me directly [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please do not post personal issues directly to the group.
