Janet,

And very few computer users have that knowledge, including me. And as you
say, you need to know the program. But I don't know of any way of 'knowing
the program' without just trying it. If I want to try such a program I do it
just before I do one of my rescues. I do it all the time so that I can learn
how to configure the computer most advantagesously. Or maybe because I don't
really have much else to occupy my mind. :-)

>I do know that Steven Gould is well known and highly respected;

Never heard of him. I generally evaluate a program based on how it performs
for me, if there's any way I can tell that.

But I don't know you either, reccomendations from someone you don't know are
not of much value. That's why I always tell people that just becomes someone
on the internet says something that doesn't make it so. These are all
strangers whose skill and knowledge is unknown. I'm not saying anything
against them, only that I am cautious.

Yep, TGFX. Thank god for XP. And we all know who god is, his name starts
with B. :-)
